$417k for JSA, power workshop

The Junior Statesman Foundation was awarded $400,000 and $17,405 is going to the Pacific Power Association, the Department of Interior’s Office of Insular Affairs announced this week. The $400,000 Technical Assistance Program grant for the Junior State of America will help send insular area high school students to Georgetown, Princeton, and Stanford University for JSA’s summer sessions program. The $17,405 Maintenance Assistance Program grant will fund the attendance of technical engineers from power utilities in the Pacific insular areas to attend the 27th Annual Pacific Power Association in Koror, Palau. Congress appropriates funding for the Technical Assistance Program ($18 million in FY 2018) and the Maintenance Assistance Program ($4 million in FY 2018).
