The future of SNAP

May 31, 2021

The House Agriculture Committee, Subcommittee on Nutrition, Oversight, and Department Operations held a hearing to discuss the status of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) as the country moves past the pandemic. I joined my colleagues to question current SNAP recipients, economists, and doctors on how the SNAP program needs to be strengthened.

This hearing demonstrated the inadequacy of the current NAP program in the Marianas. Getting the Marianas into SNAP is my top priority on the Agriculture Committee to ensure that no one in the Marianas loses benefits or gets kicked off the program because of lack of funding.
