Medicare pays for coronavirus tests

Medicare beneficiaries, CMS announced that Part B (Medical Insurance) can cover a free clinical diagnostic laboratory test to see if you have coronavirus. This test is covered if your doctor or provider orders you to get it on or after February 4, 2020. While there is currently no vaccine for the coronavirus and the immediate health risks remain low, Medicare is here to help. For those who are not yet enrolled in Medicare Part B but would likeĀ to enroll, you have until March 31, 2020, to enroll through the General Enrollment period.
