President supports insular Medicaid

My requests for insular area inclusion in the President’s FY22 budget were successful. The President’s FY22 budget proposal, released Friday, included President Biden’s support for eliminating Medicaid funding caps for the territories and aligning the matching rate with the States.

I have introduced H.R. 265 that would take the first step: lifting the Medicaid cap. H.R. 265 now has 65 cosponsors and was recently mentioned in a Kaiser Family Foundation issue brief as a solution for insular Medicaid.
