Congressman Sablan offers condolences on the death of Philippine President Aquino

WASHINGTON, D.C. – NMI Congressman Gregorio Kilili Camacho Sablan on Friday issued the following statement upon learning of the death of former Philippine President Corazon Cojuangco Aquino:
 
Today the people of the Republic of the Philippines have lost a beloved leader and true hero of democracy, President Corazon Cojuangco Aquino. The world will always remember Cory Aquino as a woman of incredible strength of will and unflinching bravery in the face of tyranny. She was a champion of peace, religious piety, and human rights and she will be missed.

My wife Andrea, who was born in the Philippines, and I extend our deepest condolences to the Aquino family, to the people of the Philippines, and to our “kababayans” in the Northern Mariana Islands.
