U.S. citizens currently abroad and wanting to return to the United States or wanting to stay informed about the State Department’s repatriation efforts and other activities related to the COVID 19 pandemic in the country you are located are encouraged to sign up for the State Department’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) and regularly checking the COVID 19 Specific Country Information page. Step enrollment lets the department know you are in country, and gives them the information they need to reach you with safety and security information, including flights leaving the country. The information also helps ensure the necessary resources are obtained to return as many Americans and their families to the U.S. as possible.
