Agriculture bills advanced 

The Agriculture Committee favorably reported on Thursday bills supporting national forests, wildfire mitigation, wildlife health, cattle contract reporting, and 1890 land grant institutions. The Committee’s markup also included legislation funding innovative efforts to recycle agricultural commodity by-products. The six bills now go to the full House for consideration. Vets discharge health aid plan enacted

The U.S. Veterans Administration will now begin developing a strategic plan to give all veterans one year of health care after they separate from active service. The requirement is a compromise worked out between the House and Senate Veterans Affairs committees on the proposal for one year of health care coverage that I introduced in H.R. 5024.

Almost Sunrise: a story of veterans healing

Almost Sunrise, a free film about two veterans of Operation Iraqi Freedom, screens this Saturday, October 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at American Memorial Park Visitor Center and again on Saturday, October 29, at the same time and place.

Kilili hails President’s Iraq drawdown decision

Congressman Gregorio Kilili Camacho Sablan issued the following statement in response to President Obama’s announcement today that all U.S. troops will come home by the end of the year. Previously, the U.S. had planned to leave a large number of troops in Iraq in an advisory role.
